Putin dismissed Ivanov from the post of special representative of the President of the Russian Federation

Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Sergei Ivanov from the post of his special representative on environmental issues, ecology and transport.

The corresponding decree of the head of state was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Sergei Ivanov was appointed special representative of the President of the Russian Federation in 2016. Previously, he served as head of the presidential administration.

Sergei Borisovich Ivanov was born in 1953 in Leningrad. From 2001 to 2007 he was Minister of Defense, from November 14, 2005 to 2008 – First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, since 2008 – Deputy Prime Minister in charge of transport, defense industry, communications, science and high technology. He held the post of head of the Kremlin administration since December 2011 – he replaced Sergei Naryshkin in this position. In August 2016, Putin appointed Ivanov as special presidential representative on environmental issues, ecology and transport.

Years later, when Ivanov was being seriously considered as a possible successor to Vladimir Putin as president, information about his “Zionist ties,” citing a 2001 article, suddenly became widely circulated on anti-Semitic blogs.
