Major alarm in Nuremberg: SEK approaches school because of toy guns

Nuremberg – fear the Konrad Groß School in Nuremberg. Because a student was observed with a weapon, the police raised a major alarm. While children waited in the classrooms and parents feared at barriers, heavily armed elite police officers arrived.

It arrived shortly before 10 a.m Emergency call to the police, said Christian Seiler, spokesman for the Middle Franconia police headquarters, to BILD. A teacher reported a young person with one Firearm to have seen. Seiler: “Even before the affected student … could be brought to the office, the 15-year-old managed to get away with his backpack. Since it was no longer possible to trace where the allegedly armed youth was, the first police patrols and officers from the Central Franconian Support Command (USK) set up a barrier around the school grounds.”

Then the SEK combed through the building: “Emergency forces Special Operations Commandos We then searched the area, but were unable to find the young person,” said Seiler.

A student described to BILD how she experienced the situation in the school building: the teachers locked the classroom doors and asked the children to stay in their seats. It was very quiet for around 25 minutes, “hardly anyone spoke”. Above all, police noises could be heard in the hallways. Later there was an announcement that everyone School allowed to leave. “Some were crying,” reports the student. Her mother says that she found out about the situation in the class chat.

In the afternoon the all-clear was finally given. The police: “A patrol… discovered the affected student as part of the search initiated shortly after 12 p.m Nuremberg North and arrested him. The young person did not have a firearm with him.”

The search for the weapon continued anyway. Seiler: “Over the course of the afternoon, the officers finally found the backpack. In addition to a toy gun that at first glance looked deceptively real, it contained, among other things, several knives, pepper spray and pyrotechnic items. The 15-year-old German had apparently hidden the backpack in an empty building during his escape.” It is still unclear what the boy intended to do with the weapons.
