Reuters: Iranian drone intercepted near aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln

On Tuesday, February 3, the US military shot down an Iranian drone that approached the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea. This was reported by Reuters, citing an official source.

According to the agency, an F-35 aircraft was used to intercept the Shahed-139 drone.

Two hours later, two IRGC boats and a Mohajer-6 drone approached the tanker, which was sailing under the American flag, and the Iranian military intended to board it. A US destroyer escorted the tanker to safety.

Both incidents occurred against the backdrop of rising tensions between Washington and Tehran and a large deployment of US naval forces in the region. At the same time, negotiations between the two countries remain on the agenda.
