President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky commented on the completion of trilateral Ukrainian-Russian-American negotiations that took place on February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi. According to him, new meetings are planned in the near future, which will most likely take place in the United States.
“Ukraine is ready to consider any working formats that are truly capable of bringing peace closer, making it stable, long-term and finally discourage Russia from continuing its aggression. The war must end in such a way that Russia does not receive a reward for aggression,” he said.
It was not possible to achieve significant progress in the negotiations, which took place against the backdrop of new Russian attacks on Ukraine. US Special Presidential Envoy Steven Witkoff said the talks were thorough and productive, but much work remained.
Russia insists on Ukraine’s complete withdrawal from the Donetsk and Lugansk regions – including the territories it controls. Despite statements by US President Donald Trump that these territories will still be lost, the Russian army is advancing extremely slowly and with significant losses.
