Kobakhidze declares that even though joining the EU remains the goal of Georgia, they are not against the debate on that topic.

“It’s not about whether we should revise our constitutional goal,” Kobakhidze said, adding that everything has pros and cons, and this topic can be discussed constructively by examining the pros and cons of European integration.

According to “Interfax”, earlier today the “United Neutral Georgia” party issued a statement in which it called Georgia’s integration into the European Union harmful for the country, not useful. The party demanded discussions with government officials, as it believes that this issue has become more urgent in society.

“There is no more urgent problem in the country now, and until we get rid of the illusion of European integration, which has already become a threat to Georgia, the country will not be able to rest. We are ready to show in direct debates with the government the extreme damage that the current foreign policy is causing to our country,” the party’s statement said.
