2 airports in Poland were temporarily closed due to Russian strikes on Ukraine

Poland’s Lublin and Rzeszów airports were closed for several hours today.

The reason was Polish military preventive actions, which, in turn, were carried out as a result of Russian attacks on Ukraine.

Both cities are located near the Polish border with Ukraine.

Flight tracking service FlightRadar24 said the closure of Rzeszow airport was linked to NATO aircraft operations in the area.

The authorities later announced that they had suspended military aviation operations, including flights by NATO aircraft in the country’s airspace, and airports would soon resume operations.

The Polish army insisted that there was no violation of the country’s airspace.

On Saturday, Ukraine announced that Russia had carried out a massive airstrike on the country’s energy facilities.
