California: claim that Israelis steal kidneys and eyes – and be punished

A teacher in the San Diego Union of Schools in California uploaded an anti-Semitic video this week in which she spoke out against Israel, among other things, and even exaggerated when she falsely claimed: “Israelis steal kidneys, livers and eyes.” The Israeli Jewish community did not give up – and she was fired from her workplace: “There is no way we will allow such a person to enter the classrooms,” a local Israeli told N12.

In the video, a person identified as Sarin Atsi can be heard referring to the support of American Jews for Iranian protests in the US, while claiming that Israel actually “stole the protests, the way they always steal from people – including body parts such as kidneys, livers and eyes.”

Dr. Halevi Feldman, a board member on behalf of House of Israel-Balboa Park, told N12: “We have someone in the community, who prefers to remain anonymous, who actually collects and documents all these cases and then forwards it to the relevant authorities.” Feldman added that from the moment the disturbing documentation was distributed, many community members mobilized to comment, tag and send complaints to the body that employs that teacher.

“More things were done behind the scenes that we won’t go into detail, and less than a day after the distribution it was already reported to us that she was fired,” Feldman said, adding that at this point the community is no longer surprised when they come across this type of documentation. “We are no longer in the market when we see things like this, but we really do not intend to give up or remain silent, and certainly not to let such a person be part of the San Diego education system.”
