Discounter recalls carnival costumes for children: choking hazard

Mülheim an der Ruhr (NRW) – This recall campaign comes just before Shrove Monday. It’s about three carnival costumes for children that were sold at the discounter Aldi.

The costumes for toddlers have been available in Aldi Nord branches since February 2, 2026. They are from the Lily & Dan brand. On Saturday, the supplier Florett Textil GmbH & Co. KG informed about the public recall.

These costumes are what it’s all about

There are three carnival costumes to warn about Toddlers from Lily & Dan in size XS (92 – 104). For consumer protection reasons, the suits Styles Racer, Firefighter and Cape Ladybug immediately withdrawn from sale.

Those affected by the recall are:

• • GTIN 4068706859267 – Item racer suit in size XS/92-104 (2-4 years)
  • GTIN 4068706859281 – Article firefighter in size XS/92-104 (2-4 years)
  • GTIN 4068706859342 – Article Cape Ladybug in size XS/92-104 (2-4 years)

The reason for the recall

The fastening seam of the Velcro fastener or fasteners comes loose on these products. The loose parts can be swallowed by small children. This poses an acute risk of suffocation, especially for children under three years of age.

This is what customers need to know now

Other products and sizes from Florett Textil GmbH & Co. KG from the Discounter are not affected by this. The products were on sale between February 2nd and 14th, 2026. Customers can return the products to any Aldi Nord branch, even without presenting a receipt. The purchase price will be refunded.
