The official page of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the social network X announced the postponement of the head of state’s visit to the United Arab Emirates. However, Arab News notes, the message was quickly deleted.
According to the report, the reason for the cancellation of the visit was the health problems of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan. The leaders of the two countries had a telephone conversation, Erdogan wished his interlocutor a speedy recovery.
There have been no reports of the Sheikh’s health problems in the UAE. The official news agency WAM released information about the telephone conversation, but not about the cancellation of the visit. However, Turkish media managed to report this before Erdogan’s page deleted the publication.
