Three Indian citizens sentenced to death for gang rape of Israeli woman

The incident took place in the Hampi village area in the northern Indian headquarters of Karnataka in March 2025, NDTV reported. The three accused approached the two victims, an Israeli tourist and her friend, the owner of the guesthouse, as well as three male tourists, and demanded money.

After refusing, they pushed the men into a canal, after which they raped both women. Two tourists managed to swim, the third drowned. The crime caused a wide public outcry: we are talking about an area popular among foreign tourists. After this crime, hundreds of tourists left the area.
