He also noted that the Ayatollah’s regime led to the international isolation of Iran, which throughout its history was closely linked with other countries. As an example, he cited ties between Iran and Israel, which have existed since biblical times.

Pahlavi said he was ready to lead a transitional regime, but stressed that the future state structure would have to be determined by the Iranians themselves.
