Article 3 needs to be refined, i.e. “urgent measures to promote thelong-term bargainingof the production of electricity fromrenewable sourcesby businesses”. Center-right sources have said that a discussion is underway with some regions, primarily Lombardy, and a process of refinement is underway to avoid possible objections by theEuropean Commission. After the summit at Palazzo Chigi, the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti arrived. Italian participation in the Board for Gaza

Vote on resolutions scheduled. The government is convinced that the solution adopted by Italy has opened the door to other countries. The government has decided to be there as an observer because as a participant it is not possible, as article 9 of the statute of the Board of Peace is in conflict with article 11 of theConstitution. In short, Rome puts one foot inside the Board but does not go beyond the willingness to listen to the proposals on the field, reiterating its support for the efforts carried out so far, from the ‘food for Gaza’ initiatives totraining of future Palestinian agentsby our Carabinieri.

Majority resolution and peace plan

The Foreign Minister’s communications will be held at 1.30 pm in the Montecitorio Chamber and then in the afternoon in the Senate there will be a hearing before the Foreign Affairs and Defense commissions. In a draft of the majority resolution thecentre-rightcommits the government to continue to support with maximum effort together “aiEuropean, Arab and international partnersthe application ofComprehensive Peace Plan“. Furthermore the request is to “prepare aoverall national contribution for humanitarian assistanceto the population of Gaza, thereconstruction of the Stripand support for the Palestinian Authority’s reform program to strengthen its governance capabilities” and to “strengthen its commitment to trainingPalestinian police forceswithin the framework of the activities of the international stabilization force”. Finally, the executive is asked to “continue to support every effort towards ajust and lasting solution to the Middle Eastern conflicton the basis oftwo-state solution“. The governing coalition also underlines that “the comprehensive peace plan indicates that with the progress of the reconstruction of Gaza and the reform program of the Palestinian Authority, the conditions for a credible path towards self-determination andPalestinian statehood“.
