At the trilateral Russian-American-Ukrainian negotiations, the next round of which took place in Geneva, the parties failed to achieve a breakthrough. On the second day, the meeting lasted only two hours.

Both Russian and Ukrainian representatives noted that the negotiations were tense. The most controversial issue is territorial: Russia demands that the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which are controlled by Ukraine, be transferred to it. This condition is unacceptable for the Ukrainian side.

However, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called the negotiations constructive. According to him, the military has reached agreement on almost all key issues. This concerns, first of all, the organization of effective monitoring of the ceasefire and the end of the war. Americans will also take part in the monitoring.

However, in political issues there is no such progress as in military ones, the head of state noted. Among the issues discussed by political groups was the status of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
