At an elite university and the Eiffel Tower: Police search for explosive devices in Paris

Paris (France) – Big alarm in Paris! On Friday evening, several bomb threats were received in the French capital at the same time, according to which explosive devices were said to be hidden on iconic buildings. The authorities took the information very seriously and had the elite Sciences Po University and the famous Montparnasse Tower evacuated.

The measures were taken as a precautionary measure to search the locations for suspected bombs and to protect people, it said police to the daily newspaper “Le Parisien”.

Eiffel Tower also affected

“Due to events beyond our control,” the Montparnasse Tower is “temporarily closed to the public,” city officials said. Workers are said to have been in the building for renovation work.

Like the news channel BFMTV Paris reported that the threat was received around 6 p.m. Where and in what form was initially not known. But the Eiffel Tower was also affected, it was said. However, this was not evacuated. Police officers searched all locations until late in the evening. So far nothing suspicious has been found.

Bomb threat two days ago

After the violent death of a right-wing activist in France, police arrested eleven suspects, including an employee of a member of the left-wing party La France Insoumise (LFI).
