The Qatari TV channel Al-Jazeera, citing an Iranian source, reports that the Iranian delegation in Geneva “completely rejected” the US proposal for the possible destruction of nuclear facilities in the country and the abandonment of uranium enrichment.
Earlier, a senior Iranian official, commenting on the third round of negotiations, told Reuters that “an agreement can be reached if the United States separates the nuclear issue from non-nuclear issues.” According to him, “the negotiations were intense and serious.” “They put forward new ideas that require consultation with Tehran, but there are still gaps,” the official said.
The negotiations lasted more than three hours. The Iranian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, the American delegation by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
