The commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, gave US President Donald Trump a closed briefing on possible military options against Iran. The briefing is reported by ABC News.
According to ABC, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Cain participated in the briefing.
ABC sources claim that the scenario for a joint US-Israeli operation against Iran remains “on the table” and continues to be considered.

MSNBC reported that Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, who is mediating the U.S.-Iran talks, will meet with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and other officials in Washington on Feb. 27. Negotiations will be held with the aim of preventing an American attack on Iran.
J.D. Vance told The Washington Post that even if President Donald Trump decides to attack Iran, there is “no way” such attacks would drag the United States into a protracted war that would last years. Vance said he didn’t know what Trump would decide on Iran and described options that included military strikes “to ensure Iran doesn’t get a nuclear weapon” or resolving the issue through “diplomatic means.”
Third round of US-Iran talks
White House envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff were disappointed by what they heard from the Iranian side at talks in Geneva, Reuters reported, with the Omani mediator saying the US and Iran had made significant progress in talks over Iran’s nuclear program.
Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi said that after the completion of talks in Switzerland, the parties will hold consultations in their capitals, followed by technical discussions on resuming negotiations in Vienna.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also announced “good progress” in the indirect talks. It is reported that during the negotiations, Iran stated its categorical refusal to hand over the uranium at the disposal of the ayatollah regime and destroy nuclear facilities. Araqchi stressed that “Iran has every right to enrich uranium.” The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the round of negotiations held in Geneva was “one of the most serious.”
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons, as Iranian spiritual leader Ali Khamenei promised so, Al-Sharq al-Awsat reports. “The spiritual leader of our people cannot lie,” Pezeshkian said on Iranian state television. “If he declares that we will not have nuclear weapons, then we will not have them. Even if I would like to do this, I cannot – because of my beliefs.”
