Russia announces new territorial advances in Ukraine with the capture of two towns in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia

The Russian authorities have announced this Saturday new progress within the framework of the invasion of Ukraine, unleashed more than four years ago by order of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, with the taking of two other towns in the provinces of Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has noted in a brief statement published on social networks that its troops have “liberated” the town of Neskuchnoye, in Kharkiv, and Gorke, in Zaporizhzhia, without giving details about possible casualties due to these fighting.

Russia has made progress in recent months in Ukraine, with the epicenter in Donetsk. In September 2022, Moscow annexed the partially occupied provinces of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, while it has also managed to penetrate Kharkiv, Sumi and Dnipropetrovsk, in addition to annexing the Crimean peninsula in 2014.
