Plane crash in Bolivia; at least 15 people died

On Friday, February 27, near La Paz, the administrative capital of Bolivia, a Lockheed C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft carrying a shipment of new Bolivian banknotes crashed while landing.

The incident happened at the airport in El Alto. Emergency officials said the aircraft skidded off the runway and rammed several vehicles on the ground.

Bolivian Defense Minister Marcelo Salinas confirmed the death of 15 people, and another 30 received injuries of varying severity. It is known that the plane was flying from Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
