US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that as of the morning of March 1, during Operation Epic Fury, three American troops were killed in action and five more were seriously injured.
Several other U.S. troops suffered minor shrapnel wounds and other injuries, the report said. They received medical care.
U.S. commanders say that out of respect for the families of the victims and their grief, the names of the victims will be published 24 hours after all next of kin have been notified.
