London – AFP The British Defense Minister announced on Sunday that Iran had launched two ballistic missiles “in the direction of Cyprus” in the context of “random retaliatory attacks” after the US-Israeli strikes, but he expressed his belief that their purpose was not to target the Mediterranean island. John Healy told the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC): “Two ballistic missiles were launched in the direction of Cyprus,” explaining that British fighter planes participated in “defensive” operations in the region from the British air base on the island. He added, “We are now completely certain that (the operation) was not intended to strike Cyprus, but this shows the extent to which our bases and personnel, military and civilian, are exposed to danger at the present time.”
