Rutte: Action against Iran is decisive for the security of Europe

“The action against Iran is decisive for security in Europe… This means that we have to help wherever possible,” said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in an interview with the German public service ARD.

He, however, rejected the direct participation of NATO in military actions.

“We are talking about Iran, about the Gulf countries that are far from the NATO area,” said Rutte.

Rutte explained how allies can help the US and Israel through logistics and access to their own resources.

“We can help without directly participating in military actions,” said Rutte.

He, as he further said, directly supports German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who in an earlier statement also advocated indirect support for the USA and Israel.

The Secretary General of NATO said that Iran alreadyć has been a real danger for Europe and for Germany for years.

“If Iran managed to obtain nuclear weapons, it would be a threat to Israel and potentially the defeat of Israel,” Rutte said.
