The appeals anti-corruption court rejected the appeal presented by the lawyers of businessman Samvel Karapetyan and decided that Karapetyan’s house arrest should still be maintained, postmaster Aram Vardevanyan reports.
“A Judge of the Appellate Court legally released Arshak Srbazan from illegal detention, and the Judge of the Appellate Anti-Corruption Court Zh. Meliksetyan rejected our complaint and decided that Samvel Karapetyan’s illegal house arrest should still be maintained,” Vardevanyan wrote on Facebook.
Karapetyan appeared in the accused’s chair in June of last yearwhen he announced to protect the Armenian Apostolic Church “in his own way”, which was targeted by the government.
