Azerbaijan has announced the prevention of terrorist acts by the Iranian IRGC

The State Security Service of Azerbaijan claims to have prevented a series of “planned terrorist, sabotage and intelligence operations” organized by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to reports spread by the Azerbaijani mass media, the most important infrastructures and high-ranking officials of Azerbaijan were targeted. Among the destinations were the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Israeli embassy in Baku, the synagogue, and others.

It is noted that “terrorist plans” have been foiled, there are detainees, including citizens of Iran and Azerbaijan.

Yesterday, Baku accused Iran of striking Azerbaijan’s Nakhichevan airport and school with drones, calling it a “terrorist act” and promising an adequate response. Tehran has denied its involvement in the incident, as a result of which four people were injured.
