China is considering helping Iran with financial support, spare parts and missile components

According to the report, China has not yet made a final decision, and is trying to balance its strategic interests alongside Iran and the economic risks associated with escalation in the region.

The United States is closely monitoring developments, as Chinese involvement could add a new and dangerous dimension to the spreading conflict.

What began as a targeted Iranian reactionary move developed within hours into a combined campaign: the activation of the northern arm in Lebanon, friction on the eastern border, escalating signals towards the Persian Gulf and firing missiles for the first time also at a British base and Italian forces in Cyprus. This is a conscious attempt to create a multi-front strategic burden, to erode the Israeli deterrence space and to present Washington with a fundamental dilemma – remote deterrence or deepening direct involvement. A move that may drag Russia and China into the arena as well.

The current round differs from its predecessors in its scope and in Tehran’s declarations of intent. It is no longer conducted only along the contact lines, but around the energy and trade axes of the world economy. At the top of the Iranian regime, a dangerous concept is taking shape – a kind of “Shiite suicide” logic – according to which there is nothing left to lose and therefore it is possible and even necessary to escalate.

Willingness to pay a heavy price in the domestic and international arena, provided that a strategic super-goal is achieved: undermining the regional order, harming geopolitical stability and expanding the circles of pressure on its rivals. Therefore it is already clear that the threat goes far beyond the northern front. Damage to oil installations in Saudi Arabia or disruption of the trade and energy routes through the Strait of Hormuz or the maritime space of the Gulf are not a future scenario – but a deliberate geo-economic lever.

The disruptions that are already occurring and driving up oil and gas prices are expected to expand global inflation and plunge the global economy into a whirlwind of uncertainty and volatility. In this way, Tehran signals that its “pressure levers” are not only military – but also financial and energetic.

The result is a multi-arena campaign that threatens to ignite the entire Middle East: Lebanon as an active arena, the Gulf as a point of friction, and the superpowers – the United States, China and Russia – as factors that will be required to choose a side or mediate. The moment a regime acts out of a sense of loss, revenge and deep hatred, without internal brakes, the risk of miscalculation soars. And this time, not only the northern border is at stake, but the stability of the region and the global economy as a whole.
