Report: Russia provides Iran with information about US military

Leavitt: Processes make no difference

Russia is officially not involved in the war. Although Moscow is helping Tehran with weapons, military assistance is not planned. In view of the war of aggression against Ukraine, Russian capacities – including in weapons production – are already heavily utilized. At the same time, Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin does not want to spoil relations in the Middle East with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which are also important for Moscow.

The conflict brings economic benefits to Russia. The demand for Russian oil and gas has increased significantly. This strengthens exports that have been hit by sanctions related to the Ukraine war. The United States, for its part, provides Ukraine with intelligence information during the war with Russia.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in Washington that even if the Russians passed on information, it would make no difference to the war. The US armed forces have already weakened Iran considerably, for example in the naval area.
