The Government of Iran confirms 1,200 dead and more than 10,000 injured since the beginning of the US and Israeli attacks

The Iranian Ministry of Health confirmed this Sunday that the first week of joint attacks by the US and Israel on the country has already left at least 1,200 dead and more than 10,000 injured, in an official assessment in line with the estimates presented this week by local and international organizations.

Of those killed, 198 were women, the vast majority girls at the bombed school in Minab, an attack that Tehran attributes to the United States, whose Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has acknowledged as an incident still under investigation while President Donald Trump has blamed the Iranian Army for a failed launch. Among the injured there are 1,044 women, 584 children under 18 years of age and 54 children under five years of age.

The Iranian Red Crescent (IRCS) claims for its part that at least 9,669 civilian homes have been destroyed in US and Israeli attacks against Iran. Statistics provided by the humanitarian NGO include 7,943 homes and 1,617 commercial structures.

The Iranian Government’s estimate corresponds to the one presented in the middle of this week by the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans of Iran, which stressed in a brief statement that “the number of martyrs buried so far amounts to 1,230”, without commenting on injuries caused by this bombing campaign, as reported by the Iranian news agency Tasnim.

Among those killed by the US-Israeli offensive are the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and several ministers and senior officials of the Iranian Army, which has responded by launching missiles and drones against Israel and US bases in Middle Eastern countries.

More than a dozen people have been killed in Israeli counterattacks against neighboring countries in the region.

The Israeli Ministry of Health, for its part, also confirmed this Sunday that 1,929 people have been hospitalized, including 157 in the last 24 hours, since the start of the war with Iran. Nine people were in serious condition, while 42 had moderate injuries and 70 had minor injuries.
