CENTCOM: “Iranian regime launches missiles and drones from residential areas”

US Central Command has reported that the Iranian regime is launching missiles and drones from residential areas. Similar practices have been recorded in at least three cities: Dizful, Isfahan and Shiraz. The American military command urges Iranians not to go out.

“This dangerous decision threatens the lives of all Iranian civilians by making facilities used for military purposes legitimate military targets under international law,” CENTCOM said. It is emphasized that we are talking about targeted actions.

Central Command states that Iranian actions also threaten the safety of civilians throughout the Middle East region, as Iran attacks airports, hotels and residential areas. “The Iranian terrorist regime shows contempt for human life by attacking our allies in the Gulf and endangering its own citizens,” said CENTCOM chief Adm. Brad Cooper.

The statement noted that Iran has fired hundreds of ballistic missiles and thousands of drones since February 28. “We are taking all possible measures to minimize harm to civilians in areas used for military purposes by the Iranian regime. In contrast, American troops do not target civilians,” the command says.

Let us add that using civilians as “human shields” is a common tactic of terrorists. Hamas and Islamic Jihad constantly fired rockets into Israel from residential areas in the Gaza Strip.
