Pete Hesset: The goal of peace is the final surrender of Iran and the elimination of the nuclear program

“The only ones who should be worried right now are Iranians who think they’re going to live,” Hesseth stated confidently, without blinking an eye. When asked about the president’s demand for unconditional surrender, he explained without hesitation and a whisper: “It means that we fight to win, we set the conditions. We will know when they will not be able to fight anymore… they will be combat ineffective and they will surrender.”

The Secretary of Defense emphasized that Tehran made a fatal mistake in understanding American determination: “The Iranians make a mistake when they misinterpret the American will, powers, capabilities and ammunition. We have only just begun to fight, we have only just begun to attack.”

He described the severe damage to Iranian capabilities, and proudly praised the unprecedented military cooperation with Israel: “Honestly, when you combine our Air Force with the Air Force of the Israel Defense Forces, these are the two strongest air forces in the world. Our ability to be above and hunt with heavy conventional weaponry demonstrates our decisive advantage.”

Hegseth referred to the mortal blow suffered by the Iranian nuclear project, and mentioned that it was a crushing response to “47 years in which Americans were targeted and murdered, along with an uncompromising pursuit of nuclear ambitions.” According to him, “President Trump is right when he says that we destroyed their nuclear program… We dropped the bombs exactly where they should have been.”

According to him, the joint actions of the US and Israel, according to the interview on “60 Minutes”, constitute an opening for a historic change for the citizens of Iran. “What you see now between the American efforts and the Israeli efforts is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the Iranian people.”

However, he provided a chilling warning: “Not now, bombs are still falling, be careful. But in time they will have a tremendous opportunity, and if they take advantage of it, they will have to thank President Trump.”
