The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has not yet decided whether it makes sense to start ground military operations in Iran.
“We haven’t made a decision on that issue yet. We are still very far from that,” Trump said in an interview with the New York Post.
The newspaper notes that this is how the President of the United States interpreted the information according to which the US administration is discussing the issue of sending American military personnel to Iran and taking the nuclear materials stored in Isfahan.
Trump also stated that he is not satisfied that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the murdered Ali Khamenei, was elected as the new supreme leader of Iran, but he did not reveal what steps he intends to take in the future.
“I’m not going to tell you,” the US president said.
Earlier, Trump stated that he wants to personally influence the process of appointing the new supreme leader of Iran, stressing that he will not agree with such a leader who will continue the political line of Khamenei.
