Serzh Sargsyan’s brothers have been charged. There is a decision to detain Alexander Sargsyan

According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, a search warrant was announced for Alexander Sargsyan, the Anti-Corruption Court made a decision to arrest him. Levon Sargsyan was wanted for a long time in another case. In this new case, the Sargsyans are accused of committing particularly large amounts of waste.

According to the accusation, he used his influence in 2001-2018 to embezzle large amounts of state funds entrusted to them in a wasteful way.

Earlier, the law enforcement officers reported that in 1997-2011, Vladimir Gasparyan, as the head of the Military Police Department and later as the Deputy Minister of Defense, allowed several servicemen to work as drivers for Lyova Sargsyan, the brother of the third President Serzh Sargsyan, instead of performing their duties, and two other servicemen were the bodyguards of the other brother of the former president, Alexander Sargsyan. According to law enforcement officials, they received a total of 54 million drams from the state budget in exchange for these illegal services. Gasparyan does not accept the accusation in this case.

Alexander Sargsyan recovered 54 million of the damage caused to the state in this case years ago.
