Iranian official says Mr. Trump ‘should watch out for being wiped out’

“The Iranian people are full of the spirit of sacrifice and are not afraid of the empty threats of US President Donald Trump. Even those more powerful than him cannot wipe out the Iranian people. Be careful of being wiped out yourself,” Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani posted today on social network X.

The post appeared after Mr. Trump threatened to attack Iran “20 times more fierce than what they have suffered so far” if Tehran blocked the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.

The war in Iran broke out on February 28 and lasted 11 days. Tehran does not accept the “unconditional surrender” request that Mr. Trump made. Iran also conducted a series of retaliatory attacks across the Middle East, causing damage to key energy infrastructure in the region.

Respond in an interview with Fox News On March 9, Mr. Trump expressed that he may be willing to dialogue with Iran, but that depends on specific terms. According to him, Tehran really wants to negotiate.

The US President reiterated his dissatisfaction with new Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. “I don’t believe he can live in peace,” the head of the White House said.

Mr. Trump also repeated previous comments that the results of the US campaign in Iran “far exceeded expectations” and that he was surprised when Iran attacked Gulf countries with missiles and drones.

The fighting has left more than 1,700 people dead across the Middle East, with Iran recording more than 1,200 deaths. Iran has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, where about 20% of the world’s oil passes, causing serious disruption to shipping through this maritime route.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards affirmed that Iran will not allow the Middle East to export “even one liter of oil” if US and Israeli attacks on the country continue.
