Israel claims to have attacked underground weapons development complex of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed this Tuesday a new wave of bombings against targets in Iran, within the framework of the offensive launched eleven days ago against the Islamic Republic, including an underground weapons research and development complex used by the Revolutionary Guard in Tehran.

“One of the main attacks was carried out against a weapons research and development complex used by the Revolutionary Guard,” the Israeli Army said in its report on airstrikes against targets in Iran.

According to the Army, the bombings hit an underground route within the complex where Iran’s Revolutionary Guard was carrying out “experiments and tests related to the development and production of ballistic missiles.”

The complex was located in the “heart” of the Central Military University of the Revolutionary Guard, known by the name of Imam Hussein, and according to Israel, this center served as an emergency asset and assembly center for operational activities.

In this wave of attacks, the IDF claims bombings against infrastructure within the main headquarters of the Quds Force, the branch of the Revolutionary Guard in charge of Intelligence operations abroad, as well as attacks against Iran’s weapons production centers and defense systems.

The joint offensive by the United States and Israel is in its eleventh day and has left more than 1,200 dead in Iran to date, according to Iranian authorities. Among the dead are, in addition to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, several ministers and senior officials of the Iranian Army, which has responded by launching missiles and drones against Israel and US interests in Middle Eastern countries, including military bases.
