Cybercriminal wanted by FBI killed in Iran

Mohammad Mehdi Farhadi Ramin, an Iranian wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on suspicion of cybercrimes, was killed last week in the city of Hamadan in US and Israeli strikes.

Iran International reports this based on its review of funeral announcements. Farhadi’s funeral took place on March 9 in Hamadan.

Farhadi has been wanted by the FBI since 2020 on suspicion of participating in cyber intrusions against government agencies in the United States and a number of countries.

He was suspected of illegally accessing computer systems and stealing hundreds of terabytes of data, including information related to national security, foreign policy, civilian nuclear research, aerospace data and unpublished scientific research.
