The official representative of the IDF press service in Arabic, Colonel Avichai Edraei, published an appeal to residents of southern Lebanon calling on them to evacuate to areas north of the Zahrani River.
The appeal states that the activities of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in the specified area are forcing the IDF to act. “The IDF does not intend to harm you. For your safety, we urge all residents to evacuate north of Zahrani,” the message said.
For the first time since the start of the war, the IDF identifies the Zahrani River as the boundary of the dangerous zone for civilians. This river, which dries up in summer, flows into the Mediterranean Sea south of Saida.
