Dutch Justice Minister David van Wiel said on Tuesday, March 17, that authorities are investigating Iran’s involvement in the attack on a synagogue in Rotterdam.
“There is currently a focused investigation into Iran’s involvement in this attack,” van Wiel said, adding that there is no conclusive evidence for this at this stage.
Dutch prosecutors said they arrested four suspects aged 17 to 19 shortly after the synagogue was set on fire, adding that the vandalism was believed to have been carried out with terrorist intent.
Van Wiel said the suspects were likely recruited.
The incident was one of several recent anti-Semitic attacks in the Netherlands.
