US President Donald Trump today (Tuesday) attacked NATO member states after they informed Washington that they are not interested in being involved in the military operation against the Iranian regime. “We do not need or want assistance from NATO countries,” Trump snarled in a post on his Truth account.

Trump informed that his country received a message from most of the “allies” that they would not intervene in the operation in Iran. This, according to him, “despite the fact that almost all countries strongly agreed with what we are doing – and Iran cannot, in any way, obtain nuclear weapons.”

The American president claimed that he is not surprised by the position of the NATO countries and criticized the organization: “I have always seen NATO – on which we spend hundreds of billions of dollars a year to protect those countries – as a one-way street: we protect them, but they do nothing for us, especially in times of need.”

In addition, Trump boasted of the achievements in the campaign against Iran: “Fortunately, we eliminated the Iranian army – their navy is gone, their air force is gone, their air defense systems and radar are gone, and perhaps most importantly – their leaders, at almost all levels, are no longer, and will not threaten us, our allies in the Middle East or the world, again!”

He claimed that due to the military success he detailed “We no longer need and are not interested in the assistance of NATO countries – we never were! The same goes for Japan, Australia or South Korea.”

Trump signed the post by saying: “Actually, as the president of the United States of America, the most powerful country in the world without a doubt – we don’t need anyone’s help!”.

Afterwards, Trump repeated his position in an interview with reporters in the Oval Office and said: “We spent billions of dollars on them.” He added that when NATO countries do not want to help the US now it is not good for a partnership with them.
