Foreign Office: Federal authority advises against traveling to Cuba

Berlin – Cuba is in a serious energy crisis – and the Foreign Office is sounding the alarm. The federal authority strongly advises against traveling to the Caribbean island. The reason: The global political situation is causing the former holiday paradise to slide ever deeper. The security situation has deteriorated.

The federal agency’s website states: “Because is facing an acute energy crisis, which is also affecting widespread ailing energy infrastructure. The lack of oil and fuel deliveries from abroad leads to significant disruptions in energy and fuel supplies, which affect all areas of life.”

Crime rate is increasing

Particularly dramatic: the health sector. The already severely limited medical care in Cuba “will continue to be significantly affected by the energy crisis,” warns Foreign Office. Due to medication shortages and a lack of medical supplies, there is often no medical care in an emergency.

There are currently hour-long power outages and an increase in crime rates across the country. The State Department warns of an increase in thefts and assaults in Cuba. No more fuel for planes from abroad
