US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has defended his House’s funding proposal to continue the Iran war. “It costs money to kill bad guys,” he justified himself at a press conference. He wants to turn to Congress again to ensure sufficient ammunition supplies and funding “for what we may need to do in the future.”
Hegseth also told a pathetic story that his 13-year-old son asked him about the war and the US soldiers who died there. Hegseth then replied: “They died for you. So that your generation doesn’t have to deal with a nuclear-armed Iran.”

“It’s a small price to pay for staying at the top”
The Washington Post had previously reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that the Pentagon had asked the White House to approve a request to the US Congress. This involves more than 200 billion US dollars (almost 173.7 billion euros) to finance the war against the leadership in Tehran.
Asked about the report, Hegseth said: “As far as $200 billion, I think that number could change.” At another press conference, US President Donald Trump described the financial package as a “small price to pay for staying at the top.”
