These comments provoked an avalanche of criticism on social networks, in particular from believers taking offense at the comparison between Jesus Christ, God made man and “Prince of Peace” for Christians, and Genghis Kahn, founder in the 13th century of the Mongol Empire and whose hordes ravaged Asia, from the confines of China to the Mediterranean.

This statement by Netanyahu “is offensive on several levels”, reacted on X Munther Isaac, Palestinian pastor from Bethlehem, the birthplace of Christ. “She not only compares Jesus to Genghis Khan, she also suggests that Jesus’ way is naive, while a ruthless approach, where might prevails over right (…) would ultimately be what allows good to triumph over evil,” he stressed.
