Trump: “Iran is crushed, the leader is dead”

Referring to the fighting, Trump claimed that “we are crushing Iran at this very moment”, and said that in Tehran “they don’t know what is happening”. He also claimed that the Iranians are “begging for a deal”, adding that although “we are negotiating now”, according to him, “they should open it”. During the talks he corrected himself after mistakenly calling the Strait of Hormuz the “Strait of Trump”.

Trump also referred to the Iranian leadership, saying that “their leaders are dead.” According to him, “their supreme leader is no longer supreme – he is dead.” He also claimed that the supreme leader’s son, Mujtaba Khamenei, “is either dead or in a very difficult condition”, because according to him, “no one has heard from him”. He later jokingly added that Iran is “the only country where no one wants to lead.”

In his words, Trump also addressed Saudi Arabia and called on it to join the Abraham Accords. “I hope you are about to enter into the Abrahamic agreements. Finally, yes. The time has come now,” he said. He mentioned Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and said that now, after he said “we have already taken them out of the game”, it is time to move forward. He also added that he hopes that all the countries of the region will be part of the agreements.
