Iran attacks Kuwaiti oil tanker loaded with millions of barrels of crude oil

The attacks reflected the intensity of the war more than a month later after the United States and Israel launched their first attacks. The conflict has left more than 3,000 dead and has caused significant disruptions to the global supply of oil and natural gas.

Trump warned this week that if a ceasefire is not reached “soon” and the strait is not reopened, the United States would expand its offensive, including attacking the oil export hub of Kharg Island and possibly desalination plants.

An Iranian drone hit a Kuwaiti oil tanker in waters off the city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, causing a fire that was later extinguished, the Dubai Media Office reported. The authorities said that no oil spill occurred.

Four people were also injured when debris from a drone intercepted cyesterday in a residential area and later loud explosions could be heard from another attack on Dubai.

Air raid sirens sounded in Bahrain, while Saudi Arabia said it had intercepted three ballistic missiles launched towards their capital. Loud explosions were also heard in Israel shortly after the military warned of an incoming barrage of missiles from Iran.
