65 “agents and collaborators of the enemy” linked to the US and Israel detained in Iran

The Iranian authorities announced this Wednesday the arrest of about 65 “agents and collaborators of the enemy” in a series of police operations carried out in the province of Markazi, in the center of the country.

The Iranian Intelligence Ministry has indicated that all of them would be acting “in collusion” with the United States and Israel, which it considers “the enemy”, as the offensive launched at the end of February against the country progresses.

Since the war began just over a month ago, security forces have carried out more than a hundred arrests. On Tuesday, another 41 people described as “mercenaries” were also arrested, along with five members of two alleged terrorist cells.

So far, Iranian authorities have confirmed more than 2,000 deaths from the offensive, including prominent figures such as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei; the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Lariyani; and the Ministers of Defense and Intelligence, Aziz Nasirzadé and Esmaeil Jatib, respectively, as well as senior officials of the Armed Forces and other security organizations.
