14 countries condemned Hezbollah’s actions and called for a ceasefire in Lebanon

The foreign ministers of 14 states issued a joint statement on the situation in Lebanon, in which they condemned Hezbollah’s decision to support Iran and attack Israel.

Belgium, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Moldova, Norway, Poland, San Marino, Spain and Sweden demanded that Hezbollah immediately cease hostilities and disarm in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

At the same time, the statement notes that as a result of the conflict in Lebanon, more than a thousand people have died, most of them civilians, and 1.2 million people have been displaced, which is about 25% of the country’s population.

The countries supported the Lebanese government’s decision to establish a state arms monopoly and its efforts to disarm Hezbollah, and called on the international community to continue to support the Lebanese Armed Forces and the UNIFIL mission.

The signatories of the statement called on the parties to return to the November 2024 ceasefire agreement and implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701. “Israeli military operations in Lebanon and Hezbollah’s attacks must cease. We call on Israel to fully respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon and call on all parties, both Hezbollah and Israel, to cease hostilities. We also call for complete, secure and unimpeded humanitarian access to the entire affected population,” said a statement published on the website of the Finnish Foreign Ministry.
