“The range and volume of products imported from Armenia give reason to assume that all of them are not of Armenian origin. We dealt with this problem both in 2024 and 2023,” said the head of “Rosselkhoznadzor” Sergey Dankvert, emphasizing the unprecedented increase in products due to the ease of access to EAEU markets.

“For example, in three years the supply of flowers from Armenia increased from 36 million to more than 100 million units. It is the same with other types of products,” said Dankwert, emphasizing that it was noticed that many products sent to Russia do not reach the intended destinations.

Speaking about the problems of supply of animal products, he noted that “some of the products here may not be of Armenian origin. We are talking about butter, cheeses, trout. The trout of the mountain rivers of Armenia cannot in any way be similar to the Norwegian one.”

Dankwert added that all this led to stricter requirements being applied to goods imported from Armenia. He sees the solution in the integration of security control information systems in EAEU.

“Our electronic systems allow us to quickly track the delivered goods and work efficiently,” he said, emphasizing that at the moment this possibility “does not work yet” within the framework of the union.
