The White House launches its app, “The White House,” where users can report people to ICE

After several days of questions, the White House put an end to the mystery, announcing the release of its application. For a week, several enigmatic messages had appeared on social networks from the residence of the President of the United States. On X, TikTok and Instagram, pixelated photos and scrambled recordings had given rise to numerous hypotheses, announcing the launch of a project.

It’s now done: the application, called “The White House”, is downloadable – and not only in the United States – and promises “unprecedented access to the Trump administration”. The tone is set from the start: from the home page, we can find two thumbnails: one devoted to “political priorities”, the other to the achievements of Donald Trump at the White House, each redirecting the user to already existing pages of the official site.

User GPS coordinates recorded every 4 minutes

“The White House,” also includes features that are already controversial. Via the “Social” tab, users can transmit information or even report a person to the ICE by filling out a report form available on the agency’s website.

Several Internet users have also already reported on social networks that users’ GPS coordinates would be recorded every 4 and a half minutes and transmitted to a third-party server. Notifications and phone numbers could also be shared.

Overall, the information found on the application provides an extremely positive assessment of the Trump administration’s policies. Users can also access information from media outlets favored by Donald Trump, such as Fox News and News Max.

Another feature spotted by the American press: the list of prices of certain foodstuffs which have fallen under Trump’s mandate, such as eggs and milk, is proudly displayed. On the other hand, not a word about gasoline which has increased since the war in Iran.
