IDF: IRGC oil director liquidated in Tehran

The Israeli Air Force, in cooperation with military intelligence, killed in Tehran Muhammad Reza Ashrafi Kahi, a high-ranking officer in the oil department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who was responsible for his commercial activities.

According to the IDF, Ashrafi oversaw the agency’s trade operations valued at billions of dollars annually. Revenues from the sale of oil, bypassing international sanctions, were used by the department to finance the IRGC missile program, the purchase of drones, and also to support Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis.

Ashrafi became the second senior director of the agency to be eliminated by Israel. The first was Jamshid Ishagi, the commander of the oil department.

The IDF says operations against Iranian regime commanders will continue.
