Reenactment: the rescue operation of the American officer whose plane was shot down in Iran

It was one of the most complex and daring rescue operations in history. The weapons officer of the American F15 aircraft waited on Iranian soil for about two days since the downing of his plane until the special forces reached him on the night between Saturday and Sunday. The armaments officer and the pilot, who was rescued shortly after the downing of the plane from Iranian anti-aircraft fire, were ejected from the falling plane and fell safely. They were not together on the ground. The wounded armaments officer managed to move away from the crash site in a steep mountainous area and elude Iranian forces who were looking for him.

After his location was located and the operation was ready for execution, air forces were immediately dispatched to ensure his safety, circling overhead and attacking to prevent contact between him and the enemy. At the same time, skilled rescue forces were dispatched and managed to reunite with the wounded officer. They led him to a rendezvous point on a makeshift airstrip, where two upgraded Hercules transport planes were waiting for them.

After everyone boarded the planes, the planes got stuck and had trouble taking off. So the commanders of the operation ordered to send 3 replacement planes. They landed, gathered their forces and took off safely. At this stage, an order was given to destroy the malfunctioning planes that remained on the ground so that they would not fall into the hands of the enemy.
