On Saturday, August 20, the “First International Anti-Fascist Congress” is being held in the Patriot Park near Moscow as part of the Army-2022 International Military-Technical Forum.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (the organizer of this event) states: “Its goal is to unite the efforts of the world community in the fight against the ideology of Nazism in any of its manifestations.”
The “congress” was announced on March 1, 2022, a week after the Russian army invaded Ukraine.
On August 2, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that representatives of 74 “friendly countries” were invited to participate in the “congress”.
Today the list of participating countries has not been announced by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The hall where the “congress” is being held is dominated by the military (mainly cadets), politicians and representatives of Russian public organizations, and veterans are invited. Representatives of the LPR, DPR, Belarus, Iran, North Korea were seen at the forum.
One Israeli also spoke: Yakov Kedmi. In his speech, he, in particular, said: “Nazism is a product of Western culture”, “All of Europe participated in the extermination of the Jews”, “Mitterrand sent the Jews to Auschwitz”, “If you don’t finish him off (Nazism), he will be reborn.”
Evgeny Satanovsky, ex-president of the Russian Jewish Congress, president of the Institute of the Middle East, also spoke at the event.
Note that both Kedmi and Satanovsky, under the guise of supporting the “fight against Nazism,” consistently support the war against Ukraine, which the Russian authorities call a “special military operation.”
