A shooting incident in Istanbul near the Israeli consulate

The Turkish media reports that three people were killed by gunfire in the vicinity of the Israeli consulate in Istanbul. It was reported that a short time ago (Tuesday) a man was shot dead near the Israeli consulate. It was also reported that a number of people were injured at the scene, two of them from the police forces of Turkey.

According to CNN in Turkish, two of the terrorists were killed and the third was wounded and arrested. The three came with long weapons. At this point there are no reports of casualties on behalf of the consulate or damage to the consulate itself, and the incident is under investigation and the Turkish Minister of Justice has appointed three prosecutors to investigate the incident. The governor of Istanbul says one gunman was killed and the other two wounded. According to him, they were armed with pistols and rifles and their identities are being checked.
