Arman Sahakyan was charged with a new charge

Emin Khachatryan, the lawyer of the high-ranking ex-official, refused to give details, as he was warned not to publish pre-trial secrets, he only said that the case is 10 years old.

Sahakyan has been arrested since morning. It is not known whether the Anti-Corruption Committee intends to impose a restraining order against him.

Sahakyan is a member of the Republican Party, from 2011 to 2018 he headed the state property management department.

Last year, opposition RPA council member Sahakyan was arrested on new charges and then released. Since 2018, law enforcers have been accusing the former head of state property management of a corruption crime for abusing official powers. In the framework of that case, Sahakyan and 12 other people were accused of money laundering. Sahakyan did not accept the accusation, while the Investigative Committee assured that the accusation is well-founded.

According to the information of Azatut, the former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan was also arrested in the same case. The Anti-Corruption Committee does not comment.
